We All Deserve a Future

Special Children

Youths with cognitive or physical limitations are frequently disadvantaged.  Many are not enrolled in any educational or training program. In response to this lack of resources,  the Guadalupe Institute created its Special Youth/Special Needs program to respond to their needs.

The Institute's programs are staffed by certified teachers, at a 1 to 6 ratio, as well as two psychologists. The Institute offers participants appropriate learning assistance and employable skills in preparation for a better future. Presently, thirty four (34) students are enrolled in our three or four year programs.

The Special Needs craft program has ranged from creating jewelry to sculpting felt figurines. Some classes are as practical as personal hygiene or washing clothes.

Our most popular programs are the Gardening Skills and the Honey Bee Program. These classes allow participants to learn plant cultivation, agricultural sustainability and the care of bees.  All programs are aimed at fostering practical knowledge, employable skills and personal independence.
